- Ensure that Plant is meeting IEPA/environmental requirements for the general industry.
- Direct & maintain the waste-water system & all environmental requirements. Create reports & communicate with environmental consultants.
- Perform quality control testing – Tensile, Hardness % Moisture, Ultrasonic testing for defects. Create Certs
- Perform any other work assignment as identified by the supervisor.
Other Expectations of the Position
- Understand IEPA and other environmental requirements for the general industry.
- Create/acquire required documentation to demonstrate compliance with environmental requirements.
- Perform pH, Specific Gravity, and % concentration testing.
- Direct the outside testing of chemical tests, review results & take appropriate actions.
- Perform Ultrasonic, Tensile, and Hardness testing.
- Perform simple metallurgical analysis with XRF and/or spectrometer.
- Understand & Oversee Quality platform in AS400.
- Assist in performing inspections to ensure product quality. This will include the inspection of incoming material as well as in-process and final inspection of the completed product.
- Generate product certifications.
- Understand ASTM requirements for brass and aluminum bronze.

- 2 to 4 years of previous QC experience in chemical or environmental manufacturing requirements. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a science discipline preferred but not necessary.
- Knowledge/experience with mechanical & chemical testing of metal products such as Ultrasonic Testing, Tensile testing, Hardness, Optical Emission Spectrography & XRF.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and ERP databases.
